Youth Education Network (YEN) is an NGO based in Nairobi and Western Kenya (Mumias). The organization registered under the NGO Coordination Board was established in early 1997. It was created by Secondary School teachers who identified a gap between school and life after school. Over the years YEN has influenced many lives positively and has partnered with like- minded NGOs, community based organizations, local authorities and schools. Over 100,000 direct beneficiaries and 5,000 families in Nairobi and Mumias have benefited from implementation of YEN projects improving livelihoods.
We believe all youth, women and children can embrace who they are,
can define their future, and can change the world.
To bring up youth that are informed and involved in community development. Empower the youth to be responsible citizens living in harmony with others around them and the environment.
To achieve an informed and involved society. YEN was founded by four locale high school teachers/ counselors who felt the need to equip the youth with life skills for sustainable and responsible living.
